As noted in the guidelines, there are two possible violations of the hi5 Platform Requirements:

  1. Abuse of viral channels
  2. Non functioning views

The following procedure will be followed for responding to violations of these requirements:

  1. When the violation is noticed, we will notify the developer team and give them 1 business day to respond, and 3 business days to fix. hi5 reserves the right to immediately suspend application activity if the integrity of the platform is at stake.
  2. If a response is not received within the specified time period, application activity will be suspended (if it hasn't been done so already), as follows:
    1. If viral channels are being abused, the corresponding channel will be shut down for 3 days.
    2. If there are non functioning views, the view will be replaced with a maintenance message explaining that the app developer is working on fixing their application.
  3. After the fix has been communicated to hi5 and we are mutually agreed that the fix will be effective, complete application functionality will be restored within 1 business day.
  4. A repeat offence will trigger the same procedure as above, except that regardless of offence, all viral channels will be shut down for 15 days.
  5. Three strikes and you are out: An application that causes a third offence will have all viral channels shut down indefinitely. Grounds for reactivation will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
